– List your top 10 sources of happiness – where does your happiness come from?

I’m going to introduce you to a practice I call “Off Time” from the Take 5 part of STAGE.

It’s a form of mindful meditation.

I call it “Off Time” because there are many types of meditation and I want to make sure we’re on the same page so you get the desired result.

Off Time changed my life in 3 ways:

1) I developed unconditional happiness.

My happiness comes from within. I no longer rely on people, things, or external circumstances for happiness.

2) I developed unconditional love.

I love everyone on earth unconditionally.

Yes, even you. I love you.

Not romantically… You’re probably not my type.

I love you in the sense that I truly want the best for you in all areas of life.

3) I started contributing to the moment.

Once you do the work, you will no longer need anything from the moment.

You can step into every moment with a sense of giving.

If those 3 benefits aren’t enough, here are 3 more reasons to add Off Time to your daily routine:

1) You deserve a break from thinking. According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts.

2) Women will find you more attractive. Science Direct published a research study that concluded women tend to be more attracted to men who are high in mindfulness.

3) Findings reported by the EOC Institute confirm that practicing mindfulness meditation sharply increases joy, confidence, and peace.

Here’s a quick Off Time Technique to get you started.

It’s called a Sound Session.

As often as you can and for as long as you can, sit somewhere comfortably, bring your awareness to the present moment, and listen to the sounds around you.

As you listen, you can identify the loudest and softest sounds or just listen to sounds as they come and go.
